I look to the Hawaiian people for guidance on Hawaiian issues and await a united and cohesive vision to emerge from the community. I believe in and support the concept and reality of Hawaiian sovereignty but am unclear as to the ultimate form it will take. I believe it is my duty and obligation to do whatever I can to support and protect Hawaii’s people, the environment and the culture – with the Hawaiian people ultimately providing the leadership and direction.
